Controls FAQs
Can smart controls be added to my existing system?
Yes. Most existing boilers, radiator systems and underfloor heating can be upgraded with smart programmers, compensation controls and app control without replacing the system itself.
What's the difference between load and weather compensation?
Both adjust the boiler's flow temperature instead of just switching it on and off. Load compensation reacts to how far the room is from its target temperature; weather compensation reacts to the outdoor temperature. Either lets the boiler run cooler for longer, which improves efficiency — and they can work together.
What is priority hot water?
Priority domestic hot water lets the boiler give the cylinder its full output when it needs reheating, then switch back to heating. The cylinder recovers quickly and the heating barely notices.
Do smart controls work with underfloor heating?
Yes — underfloor heating benefits particularly, because it responds more slowly than radiators. Smart thermostats with scheduling and room sensors keep floors comfortable without wasting energy.
