Underfloor Heating Repair & Servicing

Cold spots, a system that won't heat up, or one that's never quite worked since it went in — we diagnose and fix existing underfloor heating, including systems we didn't install.

Signs Your System Needs Attention

  • Cold spots — parts of the floor never warm up while others feel fine
  • Rooms not reaching temperature — the system runs but rooms settle short of what they're set to
  • Gurgling or uneven heat — often trapped air that needs bleeding and balancing
  • Unresponsive controls — thermostats or zone valves that don't do anything
  • Never worked properly — a system that's underperformed since installation, often down to design or balancing

Want to work out what's wrong first?

Our underfloor heating fault finding guide explains what each symptom usually means, what you can safely check yourself before calling anyone out, and which faults need an engineer. It covers controls and thermostats, cold spots and flow problems, wiring faults and boiler and underfloor problems.

How We Diagnose a Fault

Living room with underfloor heating restored to even warmth

We start with what's actually happening — when it started, what changed, which rooms are affected. Then we inspect and test the manifold, controls, and where accessible the pipework or cabling itself. Most faults turn out to be in the manifold or controls and can be fixed without touching the floor.

Once the fault is fixed, we rebalance the system so heat is even across the whole floor, confirm it's performing before we leave, and explain what caused it.

Repair & Servicing FAQs

Do I need to lift the floor to fix underfloor heating?

Not always. Many faults are in the manifold, controls, or wiring and can be fixed without touching the floor. Whether the floor itself needs opening up depends on the diagnosis.

Can you service a system you didn't install?

Yes. We regularly diagnose and repair underfloor heating systems fitted by other installers.

Why is my underfloor heating uneven or patchy?

Uneven heat is most often down to an unbalanced manifold, air trapped in the loops, or a loop that's partially blocked. A site visit lets us pin down which it is and fix it.
